PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge a few people and comment on a
few things...
First of all, the response I've gotten towards this game has been
absolutely unbelievable! :-) From those who remembered playing this game in
the past, to those who had played it on other computer platforms, to those
who had never heard of the game, but got "hooked" after playing it a few
times! Over the past few weeks(the current lifespan of this game), I've
received over 200 emails pertaining to just this one game! Unbelievable!
I'd also like to THANK numerous people for their testing efforts and
ESPECIALLY for their INFORMATIVE bug reports. 90% of the reports given to
me have contained enough info for me to zero in on the bad code within a
matter of minutes!
One of the requests I've been getting a LOT of is to convert the game
into a "real" multi-player version, allowing port to port playing. I would
most definately like to see this added to the game sometime in the future,
however it seems like MOST of the games I've put out in recent years could
benefit greatly by having this feature added(like in YachtZee & AceyDeucey
to name others). Wheel of Fortune already has this feature(in the Registered
version), so I already KNOW how to do it, however it takes a fair chunk of
time to make the needed conversions to the existing coding. Eventually, I'll
get around to creating multi-port versions of other games, however I'd like
to spend my present time working on other ventures.
Those who have been a GREAT help in the testing and commenting of this
current project include the following:
Connie (aka Paloma): Mille Bornes had been an idea in the back of my head
for quite awhile, but it was staying on the back burner until I saw the
NEED for the game. It was her request that clinched it for me. That and
the fact I was able to create the initial BETA version in a bit over one
day, which REALLY surprised me! hehe Her amassed time playing the game,
both at my place, and at Galt's(see below), have led to her finding many
of the bugs which have already been squished! Having been a Mille Bornes
fan and expert from WAY back, she was able to ask those "is it really
supposed to do this" type questions that have led me back to the Rule
Book more than once! THANK YOU for the help Connie!!
Edward (aka Galt): The SysOp of Atlantis, the "home base" of Connie above.
His input and ability to run initial BETA versions really helped this
game get off the ground!
Michael (aka Star Gazer): Michael has been a longtime tester of my stuff,
so it was no surprise to see him back in the saddle for this one. He also
has this uncanny ability to IMMEDIATELY contact me with his findings,
which really keeps me on my toes! hehe
Jon (aka Jon): hehe. A newer BETA tester for my stuff, Jon was one of those
who remembered the game from the past and got "hooked" on this version.
Jon wins the OVERALL best tester award for his inclusions of screen shots,
text file comments, and data file uploads. These allowed me to EXACTLY
duplicate the problem he encountered while playing himself.
Phil (aka Phil): hehe again! Phil's the big Game Player on my board. Although
he has a constantly changing schedule, and is as busy as a beaver, he
always seems to make time to send his comments and quirk findings on the
game. He was one of the "never heard of it" users who actually liked the
game. His suggestions have helped make the game what it is presently.
Trolan, Lebon, Cryto, Wizro, & others(Star Gazer from above, too): These are
the IRC chums whom I see alot of when I've had enough coding for one day!
Their comments, criticisms, etc. have often led to insights into finding
other problems within the game. If you've never visited the #cnet IRC
channel, come join us sometime. It gets fairly busy LATE at night(Eastern
Standard Time), especially on weekends. (Check irc.aohell.com#cnet out!)
Ray Akey (aka Heavy Metal, aka HMetal, aka Savior of all that is Good!): Well,
what can I say. Ray is THE MAN! hehe CNet has been my BIGGEST hobby for
close to TEN YEARS now! Through the efforts of Ray(and Todd), I'll be able
to continue my hobby for, hopefully ANOTHER ten years! Ray, just THANKS
for making it ALL possible to continue. :-)
Well, that's about it. I felt I had to say SOMETHING, as I don't recall ever
getting such an ovation for one of my files, including Wheel of Fortune,
although I've been working on that one for YEARS! hehe.
Once again, THANKS to ALL of you!
